Who am I and why this blog? What can you expect to see here and why should you come check it back often?
I’m Hamidreza Nassiri, a PhD student in Film at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a freelance filmmaker. My true belief is that we, as filmmakers and film scholars, need to be as responsive to the mind-blowingly fast changes in the world as the people in science and engineering. Not only in the content that we make, but also in the way we approach our topics, the technology we use, and our methodologies, we have to be in a constant dynamic state of moving toward future.
We hear a lot of concerns about “movies being dead” or “film studies dying soon.” I think, instead of denying those concerns, it would be better if we attempt to find solutions for the problems we are facing. Here, in this blog, my hope is to explore new contents, new methods, and new technologies in creative media.
